The Oregon Society of Clinical Hypnosis is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities for qualified health care professionals desiring to learn hypnosis.
We have been involved in hypnosis training and education dating back to 1956 when the society originally began as the Portland Academy of Hypnosis. From that time to present, we have trained hundreds of licensed health care professionals in how to use hypnosis safely and ethically within their scope of practice. All training programs utilize current hypnosis research and information and are consistent with American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) guidelines. We offer monthly presentations during the academic year, a Basic Hypnosis Certification Course in February, and three advanced Saturday workshops offered in October, January, and April.
Our educational and certification programs are open to all qualified health care professionals. These are licensed individuals who hold a master’s or doctorate degree in dentistry, medicine (MD, ND, DC, DO), nursing, psychology, counseling, and social work. This also includes students currently enrolled in an accredited master’s or doctoral degree program in the aforementioned disciplines. This diverse group of professionals creates a dynamic and safe environment in which to learn about hypnosis, discuss the latest research, and practice hypnotic skills.
So we invite you to check out our website where you will find information about our training and certifications programs, monthly presentations with flyers suitable for posting, and frequently asked questions. It is our hope that you like what you see and decide to come join us!
OSCH is organizing a monthly Saturday afternoon consultation group. Participation is available for members at no charge. The group is interdisciplinary and intended to offer a forum for exploring integration of hypnosis into clinical practice.
